Late Regency break arch case mahogany bracket clock with brass ogee feet.
Side windows

Dial / Movement :
White painted 7" convex arch dial signed:
          Wales & McCulloch      56 Cheapside
                                    London

Matching brass hands and Roman numerals.
The back plate is engraved Dawson & Peene and this firm are the makers of the movement.

Maker :
Although Dawson & Peene are not recorded in the reference books it is believed that they were specialist bracket clock movement makers who supplied retailers and clock assemblers, and the trade with movements. There were a number of such firms in Clerkenwell who carried on business in this way.

It is believed that Wales & McCulloch were retailers or assemblers of clocks and the firm's known working dates were:

1864 - 75 56 Cheapside, London
1864 32 Ludgate Street
1867 - 75 22 Ludgate Hill
For those entries they are described as watchmakers and jewellers.
