Clockmaker/By : John Nimmo of Leith.

Height : 84inches - excl finials.

Case :
Mahogany case with brass paterae and satinwood fretwork beneath swan necks.
Reeded brass capped pillars to hood with splats behind at the rear.
Long trunk door with shaped top flanked by quarter reeded pillars.
Base panel with small bracket feet.
Width at widest point 20.5" (hood)

Dial :
11.5" x 16.5" painted dial with mythical bird in arch and flowers in the spandrels.
Calendar dial and seconds dial
Matching steel hour and minute hands.
Roman numerals

Maker :
There were several Scottish clockmakers with the surname Nimmo and their relationships are not known.

John Nimmo, the maker of this clock was working at New Quay, Leith, Mid Lothian 1806 - 19.
